Manchester United are reported to have reached a financial agreement with Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez ahead of his potential switch to Old Trafford this month.
The Chile international has turned down a fresh extension with the Gunners, and he is likely to leave the Emirates by the end of the month with the club reluctant to lose him on a free in five months’ time.
According to Sky Italia, the 29-year-old is open to the prospect of joining the Red Devils, and has seemingly finalised personal terms over a surprise switch to the Mancunian giants this month.
Sanchez has been heavily associated with Manchester City for most of the season, but United are willing to offer more than the £20m their rival are willing have tabled for the attacker.
Presently, City are reluctant to pay anything further for the Chilean, and this puts United at an advantageous position as they could probably finalise a straight cash deal or swap Henrikh Mkhitaryan in a part-exchange move.
United boss Jose Mourinho has publicly stated his desire to recruit a wide player since the summer, and Sanchez would significantly bolster the attack, though the Gunners need to find a replacement first before his sale.
