Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard has reportedly stalled on contractual negotiations as he eyes a potential move to Real Madrid. The Belgium international still has two-and-a-half years left on his present Stamford Bridge contract.
According to The Times, the attacker has refused to put pen to paper on a new Blues deal which would make him the Premier League’s highest-paid player on £300,000-a-week.
Hazard has talked up a potential move to Real Madrid previously, and The Times reports that he is waiting to acknowledge any interest from the European champions although he remains happy in west London.
Zinedine Zidane’s side have previously been associated with the Blues attacker, and they could come forward for his services in the long-run with Hazard said to be a keen admirer of Los Blancos’ manager.
Despite the speculation, the Blues’ faithful should not worry much about the situation as Hazard himself has previously revealed his ambition of winning the Champions League with Chelsea before plying his trade elsewhere.
