Chelsea are said to hold a serious and strong interest in pursuing the services of Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero this summer, Sky Sports News reveals.
The Argentina international has been the mainstay in the Citizens’ squad which has struggled to attain Premier League success in recent seasons.
Despite this, the 29-year-old has contributed goals on a regular basis after having netted 169 times since his switch from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2011.
Aguero has lifted two Premier League titles with the Citizens during this period, and it is suggested that the Citizens would be reluctant to part ways with their marksman this summer.
Following their failure to sign Romelu Lukaku, the Blues have stepped up their pursuit for other targets including Alvaro Morata and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but Aguero has propped up the shortlist due to his valuable top-flight experience.
Aguero managed 20 goals in the Premier League last season despite playing second fiddle to Gabriel Jesus for a particular period in the second half of the campaign.
