Premier League club Watford have expressed an interest in signing former England international Aaron Lennon from Everton this summer. The 30-year-old missed a significant part of the previous campaign due to stress-related problems, but he has, however, returned for pre-season duty.
According to The Mirror, new Hornets boss Marco Silva is keen on adding the experienced winger to his ranks and has already enquired over the player’s availability this summer.
The Toffees have the likes of Ademola Lookman, Kevin Mirallas among others who could slot into the wider positions, and Lennon could be allowed to leave during the transfer window.
Watford are hoping to either pursue a season-long loan or pay a nominal fee for the attacker with Silva eager to add a couple of experienced faces to his Hornets squad.
The Hornets have struggled to show up in the backend of their recent Premier League campaigns, and Silva has been working out his options with the likes of Will Hughes and Nathaniel Chalobah brought in to shore up the midfield.
Lennon, 30, has not lived up to his early career hype with former club Tottenham Hotspur, but he still has the chance to make a significant contribution in the top-flight with whichever club he plays next season.
