Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has reportedly decided on his next destination ahead of this summer’s transfer window. The Belgian footballer enjoyed his best season in the Toffees shirt last term as he bagged 25 goals across all competitions.
According to The London Evening Standard, the 23-year-old appears to prefer a move to former club Chelsea despite having received interest from Manchester United.
Lukaku turned down a wage package of around £140,000 a week with the Toffees in March, and he has since suggested that he has made up his mind on his next challenge.
Agent Mino Raiola has already communicated his client’s interest to ex-club Chelsea, and it is left for the Blues to lodge a formal approach for his signature.
Everton are holding out for a world-record £100m sum for their leading marksman, but the west London giants will seek to reduce the fee to the £80m range.
Meanwhile, Lukaku is likely to earn wages in excess of £150,000 a week which will put him just ahead of Diego Costa in the salary structure at Stamford Bridge.
Manchester United are also willing to offer the Belgian with a £200,000 a week contract, but the player is keen on proving his credentials with his ex-club.
