Everton are reportedly in advanced talks to secure the services of Manchester United outcast Morgan Schneiderlin. The Frenchman was expected to undergo a medical at the club’s USM Finch Farm training ground yesterday before there was a disagreement in the transfer price.
Schneiderlin, 27, has already highlighted his intention to leave Old Trafford this month following a frustrating spell that has seen him earn just 11 minutes of league action.
Premier League rivals West Bromwich Albion have also had a bid knocked back for the midfielder, but it seems the Toffees are now clear favourites to land the former Southampton ace.
Manchester United are hoping to recoup the full £24m sum paid to the Saints in 2015, but a renewed Toffees bid could be hard to refuse.
Schneiderlin has previously gelled well with Ronald Koeman at the South Coast, and he would be hoping to form a similar bond at Goodison as Everton seek to compete for an automatic European place for next season.
