Antonio Conte’s Chelsea are being linked with a surprise move for West Ham United ace Michail Antonio. The Englishman has evolved into a key player for the Hammers since his breakthrough at the start of 2016.
Antonio, 26, has been one of the standout performers for Slaven Bilic’s side this season, having already netted eight goals in the top flight.
According to ESPN, Blues boss Conte could be eyeing a winter approach for the versatile player following his impressive showing in 2016 where he netted 16 goals in all competitions.
The former Nottingham Forest star has played near everywhere on the right side of the pitch, and his adaptability is something which has impressed Conte.
Antonio was no more than a fringe player for the Hammers in his debut season last term as he struggled to cement a regular role in the opening stages of the campaign.
However, following injuries to a number of first-team players, the winger got his chance and has since kept up with his performance levels.
Just when the gossip was reaching its height, Sky Sports have counteracted the report by claiming that the player would not be leaving the London Stadium this month.
The source adds that West Ham United are content to keep hold of their player with a view to an improved contract for his services in the summer.
