Premier League leaders Chelsea are apparently favourites to pursue the services of midfielder Arturo Vidal in the current transfer window. The Chile international has been tipped to leave Bayern Munich for a reunion with his former Juventus manager.
Vidal, 29, has previously worked under Blues boss Antonio Conte in Turin where they won three Serie A titles together, and The Express suggests that the two could rejoin forces at Stamford Bridge this month.
Conte is said to be eyeing a couple of recruits from the £60m sum acquired from Oscar’s Shanghai SIPG sale, and Vidal is currently the top player on his shortlist.
The Chilean is said to be constant communications with the Italian despite moving on with his career, and a reunion is something the midfielder would favour in the transfer window.
The Blues are planning to table a £34m bid for the Chilean, and feel the bid would be sufficient despite Bayern holding out for a fee of around £40m.
Chelsea will take on London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League later tonight knowing that a record 14th straight win would take them ever closer to the title.
