Premier League leaders Chelsea are lining up winter approach for West Ham United star Michail Antonio. The Englishman is leading the goalscoring charts for the Irons this season, having netted eight times in all competitions.
Antonio, 26, joined Slaven Bilic’s side from Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2015 and has since transformed himself into a key player for the club barring his initial struggles.
Blues boss Antonio Conte is said to be eyeing a suitable competitor to Victor Moses at right wing-back, and his fellow namesake is among the top names on the transfer shortlist.
The West London giants are yet to lodge a formal approach for the versatile defender, but the Hammers will most likely be worried over the impending interest.
Antonio has amassed over 50 outings for the Hammers till date, and his influence on the right side of the pitch has been key to the club’s progress.
The former Reading ace signed a fresh deal with the club in the summer, and his contract is not due to expire until the summer of 2020.
Chelsea are currently five points ahead of second-placed Liverpool in the standings, but this will not deter Conte from spending reasonably this month.
