Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has reportedly earmarked Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez as the perfect player to replace Diego Costa in the summer. The Chilean is in a contract standoff at the Emirates, and this could see him move to the Blues in the summer.
Costa, 28, has recently had a rift with manager Antonio Conte in training, and this seems to have urged him to consider his Blues future beyond the campaign.
According to The Star, Alexis is said to be the number one target to replace Costa, who has attracted interest from Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, and numerous Chinese clubs.
Alexis is currently monitoring the future of Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, and he is reluctant to show his commitment unless the Frenchman stays put at the club.
As of now, things are not moving in the right direction for the Gunners, and both Alexis and Mesut Ozil could be heading through the exit door in the summer.
Chelsea also have Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata and Everton’s Romelu Lukaku on their radar with the former being the subject of multiple bids from the club in the previous window.
