Premier League giants Arsenal have reportedly contacted the representatives of Lucas Moura over a potential winter deal. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has kept a close watch on the Brazilian since his time at Sao Paulo.
Moura, 24, was on the radar of both Arsenal and Manchester United in his early years before he opted to join Paris Saint-Germain on a €45m deal in 2013.
The Brazilian has since been a utility player for the French champions, and his performances this season have shown the worth he brings to Unai Emery’s side.
According to Metro, Wenger has sent officials to hold talks with the player’s agent ahead of a proposed move for his services this month.
Moura is also said to be open to linking up with Arsenal but the final decision will depend on the player’s employers, who are for once in a tough battle for the Ligue 1 title.
The Gunners have most areas covered in the forward department this season, and a move for Moura could creep doubts over the future of Chilean ace Alexis Sanchez.
Alexis has just 18 months left on his previous deal, and he is reluctant to pen a fresh contract unless Wenger commits his future to the club.
