Man Utd respond to Martial, Rashford exit talk

Rashford, Martial

Manchester United have reportedly issued a hands-off warning to West Ham United over star duo Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.

A report from The Sun earlier claimed that the Hammers could lodge a loan approach for one of Martial or Rashford with manager Slaven Bilic looking to bolster his frontline.

Simone Zaza and Jonathan Calleri were both recruited on loan contracts (Juventus and Deportivo Maldonado respectively) to bolster the squad in the summer, but unfortunately, the pair have made no impression, and are set to return to their parent clubs next month.

While responding to the transfer speculation, a United insider insisted that the Hammers have no possibility of landing either player, and they will have to look for options elsewhere.

“The Hammers have no chance of getting these two. Not even one of them,” a club insider was quoted as saying on The Star.

“Both players have huge roles to play this season and in Jose’s plans going forward. The Hammers might be interested, but they are wasting their time.”

Both Martial and Rashford have struggled to cement regular roles this season, but there is every possibility Mourinho would line them up together in the second half of the campaign.
