Chelsea are prepared to rival Liverpool in the pursuit of goalkeeper Joe Hart, should Thibaut Courtois leave the club next term.
Hart, 29, is currently on a season-long loan with Torino after he failed to prove his credentials to Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.
According to The Star, the Premier League leaders could come up with a surprise offer for the England international next summer with Courtois assessing his future in West London.
Courtois has recently assured that he is committed to the Blues’ cause, but with his contract due to expire in 18 months’ time, he could well be tempted to accept a challenge with Real Madrid.
Los Blancos will have their transfer embargo lifted in the summer, and there is a high possibility that Courtois would accept a return to the Spanish capital next summer.
Meanwhile, Hart is said to be keen on a Premier League return next season, and a move to either Chelsea or Liverpool could be appealing for the experienced shot-stopper.
Manchester City are likely to place a £20m price tag on Hart, should a rival club come calling for his signature.
