Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he has no fresh update regarding the contract situation of star duo Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.
The pair are said to demand wages of around £200,000 per week, and this has stalled discussions over a potential extension beyond the summer of 2018.
Whilst Alexis has earned plaudits for his performances in recent weeks, Ozil has done exactly the opposite with his lack of intensity on the field questioned by many of the club’s faithful.
In a pre-match press conference prior to the Crystal Palace game, Wenger explained he has nothing more to stay on the key men, and this is likely to raise more tension among everyone near the club.
Wenger said (Via The Sun): “We have had to face a lot of wrong information but we can not give anything else. There is nothing new.”
Arsenal are currently nine points adrift of league leaders Chelsea, and nothing less than a win will do at the Emirates if they are to keep up in the title race.
