London side West Ham United are currently favourites to prise away Daniel Sturridge from Liverpool in the winter transfer window. The former Chelsea man has had a tough time at Anfield this term.
Sturridge, 27, has barely earned a league start for the Reds this season with manager Jurgen Klopp content to play the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane as his preferred three in a 4-3-3 setup.
According to The Express, the England international is counting his final months at the Merseyside with Klopp open to cashing in on his services in the New Year.
The likes of Arsenal and AC Milan have been previously touted as possible destinations for Sturridge, but as per the latest report, it is the Hammers, who are leading the pursuit for the talented marksman.
The Hammers have made a poor start to the ongoing campaign, and it is believed that Slaven Bilic would take a gamble on Sturridge despite his injury concerns over the years.
Sturridge has been restricted to just four league starts under Klopp this term, and a move away from Merseyside would be beneficial for him to regain his old self.
West Ham United are currently 17th in the league standings after 12 games into the season.
