Manchester City will look to continue their spending spree with a move for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere. The England international has struggled with injuries in recent seasons and this has hampered his progress at the Emirates.
The Citizens boss Pep Guardiola is eager to freshen up his midfield over the summer after the club failed to live up to their potential during the previous campaign.
A report from The Sun says the Mancunian giants have added Wilshere to the top of their shortlist with Pep considering the player in high regard.
However, it looks unlikely a deal could be done this summer with Gunners manager Arsene Wenger having his full faith on his midfielder’s ability.
City are on the search for home-grown talent with the futures of Fabian Delph and Gael Clichy hanging in the balance.
Wilshere, 24, managed to earn a place in Roy Hodgson’s England squad for Euro 2016, despite being injured for the majority of the 2015/16 campaign.
